Dating back to the last decades of the 19th century, this historic estate in Dão is undergoing a restoration since 2009. It is when it was bought by Ricardo Cabral, who teamed up with one of the most skilled winemakers in the region – Paulo Nunes. Together they farm and make wine from nearly 100 hectares of vines, of which 45 are in the premium high-altitude sub region at the Foothills of Serra de Estela mountains. Steady breeze and significant difference between day and night temperatures, enable much longer “hanging time” for the berries, which produce fresh and vibrant wine with plenty of natural acidity. The reds are supple, with ripe yet firm tannins.
